Are you ready for the QuickBooks Desktop changes coming in July 2024?
QuickBooks Desktop users, some significant changes are coming your way this July.
Intuit, the company behind QuickBooks, has announced alterations that will impact how users subscribe to and access QuickBooks Desktop. Understanding these changes is crucial to ensure a smooth transition if you rely on this software for your business or organization.
Here’s what you need to know:
The Transition Timeline
As of July 31st, 2024, the way subscriptions are managed for QuickBooks Desktop is changing. Before this date, clients who want to keep using QuickBooks Desktop must buy a QuickBooks Premier annual subscription.
However, after July 31st, new purchases of QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions will no longer be available. This marks a significant departure from the previous model, affecting existing and prospective users. Read on to learn how to mitigate the impact of this change.
Impact on Non-Profit Organizations
In the past, non-profit organizations were able to purchase QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions through TechSoup, a platform that facilitates discounted software purchases for non-profits. However, this avenue will no longer be available moving forward. Non-profit organizations who rely on QuickBooks Desktop will need to adjust their strategies accordingly and explore alternative solutions.
Options for Insource Financial Clients
If you’re a client of the Insource Finance Team, there are specific options available to you to navigate these changes smoothly:

The Insource Finance team will reach out to you to understand your preferences and assist with the transition process.
2. Clients without Access to QuickBooks Desktop (Non-Hosting Clients):

Insource will upgrade your file to the newest version seamlessly. You can expect to receive an email from Insource outlining your additional options and any necessary steps.
